Sometimes hunting for a new photocopier for your business is a difficult and daunting task; there are after all many things you will need to consider before you come to any kind of agreement or decision. One major issue you have probably thought about already (I hope) is the photocopiers dimensions, its size - do you have room enough to accommodate it in your office? Is there enough room on the sides to allow easy servicing and maintenance of the photocopier? Can you load the draws without having to move it? Is there a wall socket within the reach of your desired photocopier location? Think long and hard about the space requirements of any replacement photocopier or first time photocopier as they come in all manner of shapes and sizes.

Being in a green office myself I always think about my carbon footprint, from a business perspective this makes some sense to bear in mind a product which uses less energy will cost long, even if it is a cost saving of a couple pence an hour this will mount up over the year and might be the equivalent value to another toner cartridge or a few maybe! Photocopiers in the office are typically left operational throughout the day (while in use) and the evening (while not in use), there are options out there which consume very little power when in standby mode, a quality any business should be looking for in their office equipment.

The first photocopier I ever seen was a marvellous invention and made life much easier in our office workplace, it was however not particularly user friendly - unlike many of the more modern alternatives which have touchscreen displays. Usability is such an important aspect of the perfect photocopier, although every photocopier comes with a manual, most are intuitive and require only a short study of the handbook to get a grasp of the functionality offered. Back in the day, in our office at least only a few 'qualified’ technicians were trained to use the photocopier!

Photocopiers often are characterised into several qualities which measure them for example speed and quality where speed is the pages per given time unit the printer can output, quality refers often to the dots per inch or the resolution at which the printing unit and scanning unit are able to input and output - there are other metrics like these which should be paid close attention to when purchasing your perfect photocopier.

With all of this in mind, don’t forget that just like any other piece of equipment it requires a regular service by a professional to ensure it achieves its lifespan; regular maintenance is also a necessary such as cleaning of the exterior and dusting.

Office Magic are an office supplies company based in the UK, they have a wide range of office solutions to match your business needs - including photocopiers, printers, fax machines, scanners, computers and much more. If you are looking to get a new photocopier or check prices of photocopiers.
